ClonedCar???
5 Answers
Hi,
My partner bought a car a while ago for £9500,it was a private sale,i personally
think the car is a clone as it looks like the vin numbers have been played
with, weve had the car for 3 months now,she is not getting on with it and want to
sell,we have received a new logbook from DVLA in her name for this vehicle so
surely it cant be a cloned car as DVLA would have sent 2 logbooks out for the
same car and im sure if they do that it says its a duplicate anyway, does this
write it out that this vehicle is not a clone due to DVLA sending us the
logbook?
Also if we go ahead and sell the vehicle either to a private seller or as a
trade in with a trader do we have any come back?
Many thanks
Dean

if you'd like to be sure contact police and tell them, they will send someone out to check the car over, if it was cloned you'd only get 1 logbook which would be for the 1 it had been cloned to be (if it makes sense).
vin plate in engine bay could have been taken off (accident repair and refitted).
best thing to do , is check the numbers stamped into the floor , should be a cover inside car and usually on cloned cars it stands out, (weld , different feel to finish of steel, uneven stampings or out of line stampings).
