Good luck finding anywhere cheap in St Ives at that time of year.

Thought of camping? Again, still pricy, but cheaper (ish) than a BB or hotel.

dont mind a b and b if its clean and recommended, camping defo out! we would be looking at a wed to a sunday, checking out sunday, dont know if this is feasible at that time of year?
Well always camp when I go to cornwall- what's the objections by the way? So can't help on the BB side. I hate to pee on your parade, but I genuinely think you'll struggle to find anywhere cheap at that time of year down there- sorry.
We, not well*
not within St Ives at that time - there's a nice pub at Zennor which close friends of mine stayed at called the Tinners Arms......they really liked it and the food is good - an old 18thC inn with a very 'rich' history... DH Lawrence resided at the Inn for a while before starting to use a local house, Higher Tregerthen, which became a magnet for artists and writers.

Double is 95 a night a single 55 (and you will pay more in St Ives.....) - maybe worth exploring some of the B and Bs around Back St West and The Digey - right in the centre and close to Porthmeor Beach and the Harbour. St Ives has very strict segregation of visitor cars (kept out) and locals (so you need to arrange the permit with mein host).

It is particularly beautiful up there on West Penwith- very stark landscape with wonderful views over the sea..

Zennor is some 4 miles from St Ives.

Avoid Penzance and Hayle like the plague..

(2-part post):

I've just taken a look at TripAdvisor. By switching from 'Hotels' to 'B&Bs', then ranking them with the cheapest first (but only accepting results with good reviews) these would seem to be possible places for you to stay. (I've not checked the distance from town but they're all listed as under £40 per night and they're generally quite a bit cheaper):

Thurlestone Guest House (18 'excellent' reviews, 3 'very good' ones and nothing below):

Glanmore Guest House (15 'excellent'. 2 'very good'. Nothing below):

The Anchorage (34 'excellent'. 3 'very good'. Only 1 below):

The Cobbles (29 'excellent'. 5 'very good'. Nothing below):

Awww bless chris, you do work hard on here.

See nextqueen? I pee on your parade, chris comes along with a brolly :-)

Good luck getting a few days away in summer.
Question Author
thanks a million, will take a look!
Cobbles is also brilliantly located...(but check on car parking facilities). I 'trained' just behind at the St Ives School of Art - we had a summer flat in Piazza, also just behind and right on Porthmeor Beach as my g-parents didn't have the space to put us up.
