Mrs MM ans I went to a social club. It was a Saturday night and when they came round selling raffle tickets we bought some. We won the most hideous lamp you have ever seen. We decided that at the end of the evening we would just leave it on the table. A lady stopped at our table and said she really wanted to win the lamp and would we consider selling it to her. I said two Bacardi's and it's yours. So last drinks of the night were free and she was delighted. What hideous prize have you won?

Last year at a reunion I won a 50 year old bottle of Armagnac and a bottle of single malt whisky. Very pleased.
I won 200 cigarettes - you've guessed it I know, I don't smoke.
Zeuhl - a proper guitar played by Robin Cambell and signed by him and authenticised. Won it on a competion on he UB40 website some years ago now. Was used on a tour the name of which I can't remember. Quite scruffy. In my son's loft at the moment so can't go and look at it.

It was delivered by a private hired driver.
Ankou. No make shown on it from what I remember I think it must have been hatched together.
I went to a garden party with a mate of derek temple and his wife, (they opened it) and bought a ticket on the bottle stall and won a bottle of rose hip syrup
Blimey Lottie

it may be a custom build and worth dosh
.
Oooooh!! How do I find out Zeuhl. I phoned the major auction houses but they weren't interested.
i won some money once. bought chikldren some pressies and then went skiing. got hooked and spent loads of dosh following years going again. very expensive win. but lovely memories so not so expensive after all.
It looks a bit like an Ibanez but it's odd there are no logos on the headstock.
He seems consistent in his choice of guitar but the UB 40 site doesn't name what it is.
The guitar's got to be worth something. A professional guitarist is going to have a good guitar isn't he. Don't give it away, put it on Ebay or something.
When I left a job I'd been in 12 years, they gave me an electric coffee percolator. I don't drink coffee.
I won a complete belly dancing kit in a raffle. It gathered dust in a cupboard until I gave it to my son's Cub Scout group for their Xmas raffle.
Youngest Junior O had a winning ticket....and picked the bl00dy thing out as a pressie for me
Like this I think Zheul.

Son did tell me what make it resembled 'cos he's a guitarist and owns loads. But I really can't remember except that it had no make on it and looked a bit battered. It came in it's carrying case that smelt of cigarettes and an authentication letter.

Zeuhl!!
I'm sure you could get some money on ebay.
Can you just ask for offers on EBay Zeuhl. I seriously haven't got a clue how much it is worth or what the interest is now in UB40 stuff. they seemed to have regained more popularity recently than they had when I won it. I shall have to get son to haul it out of the attic!!
Thanks for your help Zeuhl.
I think there are two issues here.

A uB40 fan might pay a decent amount but if it is a decent instrument and not too beaten up then it will have an intrinsic value anyway.

For the right person, the UB40 connection will increase it
.
i won some hideous salt and pepper shakers at xmas dinner. Luckily my bloke needed to donate something to football raffle the next day.
