I have always noticed my skin is really bumpy and no matter how much i exfoliate and moisturise my body it is never ever smooth. It's always so rough and i really do hate it! It's on my chest, arms and a bit of my legs but not so much there. Read in a magazine about this thing called 'Perfekt Body Perfection' cream that Blake Lively apparently uses so i thought hey why not check it out?! Then it said that it treats 'chicken skin'... then it hit me!! Hahaha i think i have this so called chicken skin or 'keratosis pilaris'. I think.
Anyway getting to the point here (sorry, i blab!!) is this right? Could it be true? I'm only 16.. apparently you can get it any age so i suppose that this skin thing with me could be it. Also, do you have to get it diagnosed by your doctor before trying treatments etc? And anyone recommend or know any treatments for it? I don't think i have it as severe as some people.. i'd say mild but i really have no idea! Make a doctors appointment or is this just me taking things too far and it really is a case of exfoliating?
The cheapest method of treating the condition is wth cream for cracked heels, containing glycolic acid. Apply once or twice a week after bath/shower. You have to keep using it, though, as the condition recurs.
Anyone know how these creams actually work? I already mositurise alot, and it really does do nothing. It feels like the bumps need to be lasered off or something!!
Yet your a$$ to the GP (as weas has said) and get some proffessional advice, this lot will have you fried and boiled in the hope of clearing your obviously upsetting problem.
