Password protect folders

Hi all - i need to password protect a folder on my pc (bank and work stuff). All access needs to be protected, so i cant use a zip folder, as that displays the contents of the folder (even tho the files cant be opened). Any ideas, oh AB gurus?

I think there is a small prog called Cryptainer which allows you to encrypt folders and can be hidden free to try max 5mb but expandable if you pay the fee....

If you are on xp or windows 2000 you could use NTFS security to allow only specific users access to the folder / files.

when you save the file/folder click on the options tab and you will get a password protect option

Alternatively, you could get a usb pen drive, and not store the data on your PC at all.

Crucial's gizmo drives come with a software utility which allows you to password protect the pen drive.

If it needs to be really secure (read: not even governments can access your data), then simply download PGP and you'll be fine!

You can either pay a fee for a version that does more, but for basic email and file encryption they offer trial software that is in fact just freeware: there is no time limit on it (only for the advanced stuff you probably wont want to use anyway).
