i really enjoyed this one. it displays great skill in setting i think. just a pity the 5x5 was given away when it would have been an interesting challenge to find it unaided. the anagram is really well conceived though.

Have returned from the Algarve, where I suffered three weeks internet (and thus EV) deprivation, though I did manage to get on-line occasionally. Thus doubly enjoyed this offering, though to be candid, probably because, as a former teacher of English, I am more 'arty' than artless.
Mind you the 20 days of sun and amazingly inexpensive local wines did rather compensate for other amusements !

I visited the final resting place of 954's versifier and found him in illustrious company (Newton, Tennyson, Bacon). Hence delay in commencing and completing this entertaining offering. It reminded me of an episode from the splendid "Sharpe", in which the same item was being sought. Big clue from you dr b, you should be hung "pour encourager les autres".
