Why do people on the left seem to have had a sense of humour by pass? They check and anylise every joke or funny remark to find some way of being offended on someone else's behalf. They really do take life far too seriously.

Its because by definition/sterotype left wingers always have a 'ism'. Hence they will always be offended by sexist/racist/agest jokes or comments.

Try poking a bit of fun at some of AB's fascists and they can't take it, the more 'left' wing ones (I prefer 'liberal' or 'tolerant' - and I include myself in this category) can take a bit of fun being poked at them, infact my experience of them is that they quite enjoy it.

AP ..I have to agree with you there, I can think of many 'right wing' comedians(allegedly) who are crude, cruel, insensitive, racist, sexist and not very funny. Now Dave Allen always came across as left leaning and was brilliant.

Well i never saw Leon Trotsky in gales of laughter...then again he got an ice-pick....which didnt help his laughter gene....never saw Adolf Hitler doing an awful lot of stand-up....i must lead a dull life...

i reckon the best way to gauge this would be to count how many serious posts were posted in the news thread by right wingers and then by left wingers. That might be a good guide!
