I think its the tannin....iron uptake is improved with vit c though so have an orange or something with it

Well I intend to have Orange/Grapefruit juice with lunch but I had a cuppa at 12 so I might leave it a bit
I am not sure that I understand you question.

If you are having a protein lunch...chicken, streak ....etc then drinking tea will have no effect on the absorption of iron.

Have I missed your point?
There is nothing in the post to suggest Ric.ror is iron deficient.

I want to build up my iron so I can give blood succesfully next time I go - I have started to take a tablet from the supermarket and thought I would try to improve my diet and instead of having a cuppa after my meals I thought I would have fruit juice with the meal. I do like a cuppa with a biscuit for dessert and thought if I left it - say 1/2 hour it would not affect my iron absorbtion

The above is why I want to improve my iron count

I do like a cuppa with a biscuit for lunch so I thought if I left it approx 30 mins it would be ok
I have started to take a tablet from the supermarket to help
Ric.......take you iron tablets with your meals and go back to eating meat, chicken etc which you admitted to have "drooped off"

A normal diet, a cup of tea whenever you feel like it will not hamper to any extent the absorption of iron.
