I will be 65 this year - does anyone one know if my Personal allowance code will change at the start of the new tax year or when I have my 65th birthday

Thank you factor30 - I checked the link you kindly gave me earlier, and it didn't seem to answer as to whether it would be the start of the Tax year or actually when my birthday falls!
Ring HMRC but my guess is it won't kick in until you are 65, so there may be aprorata adjustment to your tax code or you may have to wait until the following tax year
As I understand it your tax code will change at the start of the tax year you reach 65.

over 65 9940 until 75
