Opinions Please

Hi all,
I havent been on here for a while but Im just wondering whether I am being mean or not. Basicially my sister is a single parent like me. I have her child to stay once a week but just today she was feeling very poorly and wanted me to have her child (Who doesnt appear ill at the moment) I have a young baby and I work part time, I said I couldnt have her child incase he had caught whatever she had and he would pass it onto us. My child has just got over a cold. My sister thinks Im being unreasonable as she says my child will pick things up in nursery anyway so whats the difference. My opinion is this - yes she will pick things up from nursery but I dont want to pass anything onto her intentionally. I am being mean or sensible?

My opinion for what it is worth is that your sister is using emotional blackmail to make you feel bad, and that isn't nice. You have to put your child first, as no doubt she would if the boot were on the other foot. Don't let a rift develop but don't be put upon either. Best wishes to you.

Your sister is being unreasonable, can't look after her child because she's poorly? What about single parents who get poorly and have no one to turn to? They just have to get on with things

Lol, I dont know but Doc has gone quiet! Ladybirder - emotional blackmail is always what she uses! With regards to me and my girl my sister always wants to look after her, but I dont let her go to her house (house is always dirty, has bits all over the floor, litter tray has cat poo in etc) because Its unclean (not that im perfect but I do keep my house as tidy as possible) and I worry about germs and her picking bits up off the floor and putting them in her mouth etc.
