pasta I have heard of that before, but can you trust those methods ?
well....you can try that method-THEN crack one open if you are unsure. But if you google how to test eggs for freshness-that is the method that will come up 99%of the time.
Years ago we kept eggs out of the fridge and they lasted for ages. Use by dates are ridiculous on eggs. As others have said you will soon know if they have gone off!! 2 weeks is absolutely nothing to worry about with eggs. I am more cautious about yoghurts, but still eat them days after use by dates.
Notice that eggs on sale in shops are not refrigerated. The Best Before date presumes they will be stored similarly at home. If you' keep them in the fridge, they'll last longer before going off. I agree with Pastafreak - do the water test. It's what I do, and the test does work.
