Messenger???

I cannot log on to my messenger site as it says there is a new version and I must download that!!!!I I have tried to do this several times but it just will not load!! does anyone know why and how I can get it to load.

I had a recent problem where I tried to update Windows Live Messenger and it crashed my PC. Unfortunately, I have no idea why it did this.

However, I got it to work eventually by going direct to the MSN website and downloading the update from there instead of through Messenger:
