Hi, Chaps,

I posed a question here last Friday which you both answered (with OldGeezer) re: hard drive cloning. You will be delighted to hear that I successfully located, downloaded, and used Seagate's DiscWizard, to create an image on my portable drive, and a boot disc. It all seemed much too easy, now I just hope I never have to use it! Thanks for your help, again.

Glad it worked ok :)

Keep in mind that because you used the seagate version of the software it will only load if you have at least one seagate or maxtor drive connected (if your USB drive happens to be a seagate or maxtor drive inside that counts)

If you ever want to restore that image without a seagate or maxtor drive connected you'd have to buy acronis true image (£40)

Ok Chuck, I'm not going to use the portable drive for anything else, it's just going in the drawer for the doomsday scenario of a dead hard drive. Thanks for your expertise.
