I'm Welsh, but mostly raised in England. Lots of us Welshies on the answerbank though isn't it?

My Auntie traced our family tree on both sides back to the late 1700's .
Everybody was born in England but I consider myself British.
My Mother and Father,their parents and their parents parents were all born within 20 miles of Dudley.
Pretty boring really!
If Somerset is God's own County then why has he allowed 31 swans to be shot - unless the dastardly crime has been done by (i) a Yorkshireman (ii) Jo Yates true murderer (iii) Colonel Qadaffi

I would argue that Norfolk is God's County, after all that is where an awful lot of his societal mistakes are located
English with all 4 grandparents, English with 8 great grandparents , English with 15 great great grandparents and welsh with one great great grandfather, English with 30 great great great grandparents but 2 welsh great great great grandparents apart from the Welsh side all the rest were English back a couple more centuries, back to 1430 when a roaving Irish shoemaker arrived in Chester City was admitted to the Guild and married a local girl.
Fascinating dotty, I'd love to be able to tell my grandkids their ancestry like that.

I'm English, Yorkshire through and through, you can't tell us much because we know it already. Mum born in Murton, Co.Durham, my grandfather Williams possibly Welsh but came from Stoke on Trent. Dad and his family from Yorkshire.

Mother was welsh, and all of her descendants were too, father was Irish, I was born in Wales, I am Welsh!.................
Yorkshire and Irish seems to win here I think.
Mother Irish, Father Welsh, I'm born in England, OH is a Scot.
