Cognac v Whisky
13 Answers
I don't get this.
I love Cognac ... (having one now, as it happens).
But when I drink Whisky, it does that Ghaaaaaahh!!! thing in my throat.
But it's just the same strength.
Why is Cognac warming, and Whisky burning ?

I have tried to explain cognac as similar to the old readybrek advert, but with the warm glow on the INside. 'Tis like swallowing a thousand glow worms on the coldest night, or like pouring oil on troubled waters, or like your mother's hand on your fevered brow. Cheers.

You are obviously drinking Sugar....a really good malt doesn't burn. what are you on? Also cut it with a little water. I enjoy good scotch and I love an XO Cognac, mainly Hennessy as a lot of the others are 'perfumed' for the Oriental taste-buds. Love XO Armagnac and good Calvados - there's a wonderful shop just down from the west door of Rouen Cathedral for those of you who are over there and like "un ballon de Calva"
