IF we are a United Kingdom,,??? why do we people in England have to pay for our doctors prescriptions ''' but not if you live in Scotland or Wales''' or have I got this all wrong ?

Maybe molly didn't make her point clear enough for you, She's not getting her education for free, she was pointing out that the Scotch, Welch and people from NI are being subsidized by the British people, her parents are subbing her.

Maybe Dris didn't make her point clear that the SCOTTISH (not Scotch - that's a drink), Welsh and Northern Irish are NOT being subsidized by the British people - they pay their taxes and their governments budget in such a way as to allow free prescriptions, albeit at the expense of something else. The English spend their budget in a different way.
