I don't know about online, but the best book is The guinness book of hit singles. You can get it everywhere. It lists every song since the hit parade started from I think 1951 or so.

DJKC has the right site for you. www.everyhit.com has a section called the date engine. fill out the required fields, hit find and there you are.

The date engine on everyhit.com is excellent, as most lists of number ones go by "week ending" dates, which tend to confuse a lot of people.
