Have finally completed grid and have the two six letter words,and have lined up the thematic word. I can see some words eg. sword/thou/truck , but cannot see any sort of 10 word quotation any hints please.

Am in the same boat as gribble and starting to climb the walls!
Please can anyone tell me if the spelling of the theme word is significant in the search for the quote?

eaglecountry - i think we can assume that the theme word needs to be 6 letters long for the resulting adjustments to be made. although it's not the usual spelling there is only one other version that i can see that is 6 letters long. - the entry close to this [in chambers] shows the same word with a variant spelling but this does not signify the same object. - clearly you need to line-up the correct 6 letters to get the quote and the theme word should suggest the source for the original quote. hope this helps.

gribble - a final hint from me then - continue directly on from your middle archaic word - you are halfway towards another archaic word.

Thanks bellabee, my rings were lined up correctly, but I hadn't looked long enough at quotes from the correct author.Got it now!!
