Depends on the rootstock on a colt it will grow for a few years at least and fruit fairly well I had one for about 6 years before it had to go into the ground Ballerina trees are better ...apples pears and peaches so far not sure if they have ballerina cherries yet
Thank you for your responses guys.....I have earmarked a corner spot in the ground behind a garden bench near a fence which is a sunny (haha) south facing area. I did not really choose this tree for it's fruit- more for it's fairly rapid growth/shade/screening and a good price!
