who replaces fance

i rent my house from a private landlord and so does my neighbour, the fence inbetween us has become damaged beyond repair due to my neighbours 3 dogs jumping on it all the time. Its to the left of my garden when facing the garden from my back door, have to find this out asap as my children use the garden and now theres a huge hole in fence and there dogs keep trying to get into my garden

If your neighbour damaged it, your neighbour replaces it.

However, there is no legislation that requires a fence to be placed on a boundary, even if you are responsible for that boundary.

There is legislation about keeping dogs under control and restrained within your own property, so my best guess is that the dog owner would require a fence and would be liable to replace. They cannot force you to do so, even if the fence is your responsibility.

wish it was that easy there idea is to cover it with broken bits of wood n then when its windy they get blown away they obv wont do it its been like it since summer

i would replace the fence but there dogs jump on it n have damaged ghe fence both sides of there garden. my landlord is talking about new fencing but we also have the problem of the neighbours dogs breaking that also.

Surely, if it's replaced with strong, decent fencing , it should be OK? How big are these dogs?

Dog owners are responsible for keeping their pets under control, including not straying onto other's property. ASK the neighbor to repair fence damage or at least make it dog proof, or you will resort to police who can enforce same.

Write to the neighbour's landlord and explain the situation. It is his responsibility to ensure his tenant is behaving in a decent manner towards neighbours.

gotta be honest dnt have a clue who landlord is and also dnt think hed be happy to know they have pets
