Sorry, didn't know where to put this - animals & nature or food & drink so I opted for CB. Anyway, anyone have any experience or knowledge of what's involved in keeping pigs with the idea of eventually eating them- cost of feed, any paper work that needs to be done, etc. (I am squeamish so please don't put anything about the actual turning of pig into sausages, etc.) Thanks.

If that's for real, don't get pigs.
I could never do it as I'd not be able to send them to slaughter. I'm far too soft.
Looking at that programme tonight about a young man working on a farm, it seems to involve a vast amount of shovelling liquid pigpoo - and pigpoo smells really bad, as we know when they spray it on the fields near us...

Right, he's gone of the idea of keeping pigs, his new plan is to buy half of a dead one and butcher it himself! Mid life crisis alert.
