I had to phone to ake an appt for a NHS hospital, they would not make the said appt because I didnt have my password ! went round to GP to discover they had forgotten to send the letter with the password ! what wuck fit dreamed up this stupid password scheme why cant you just give your name address and dob to get an appt ? my password by the way was "pit stop" .

what's wrong with having a password? if there wasn't one, there'd be people moaning how insecure it is. At least the people at choose and book know they are talking to you (or someone you've authorised)

so does someone working for the NHS get paid to sit all day and think up passwords ? when they could be doing something more useful.

The password scheme was actually put in place after public consultation on the choose and book scheme. It was members of the public who felt that they wanted the security of password only access.

Oh listen, I have been involved with public consultations with the NHS and you could not make up some of the stupid stuff that gets said. Public consultation opportunities are put up in local libraries and health centres, also ads are put in local papers. Quite often the folk who turn up (and none intended lol) are precisely the ones you DO NOT WANT....anyone remember Harry Enfield's "You don't wanna do that" character? Typical!!!
