I have double glazed windows and exterior doors with aluminium frames. How can I stop condensation forming on the frames or is it a case of replacing with upvc.

Until recent years, windows were sold without "trickle" vents fitted............... small vents that allowed vapour to escape without the draught that is inevitable with leaving a window open.
Early aluminium windows had no "thermal break" either. That is to say, the inside surface of the frame was at the same temperature as the outside .............

or drop the temperature in the room, maybe leave a window ajar.

As RATT says, have the inside temp as low as the outside ............. probably not practical though. Or, have a comfortable temp but with a couple of casements sightly open.

The one door has a trickle vent so I'll try leaving that open.
Thanks for the advice
However, in real conditions, I think that you'll find that they will still be a problem
We changed to UPVC and still get condensation unless we leave all the trickle vents open (which defeats the noise-reducing point of getting the windows in the first place!)
