Are you sick of excess adverts on TV? Even the BBC keep on "what's coming on, but it's never tonight. Is it not all about reducing 30 min programmes to 25min. Also why does the BBC not use this time-wasting time and sell it to commercial ads and then eliminate the licence rip of?
they are going to eliminate adverts in the future because since the advent of sky plus, no one is watching the adverts, just ff through them, they are looking at brand placement instead (where they advertise during programmes)
Commercial television is dying - the revenue from advertisers is dwindling. ITV are steadily increasing its dependence on subscription services with three of its four HD channels being available via Sky+ HD only.
Product placement within programmes is about to start shortly. There will be a double 'P' symbol before the programme apparently. I've got visions of watching Eastenders and Phil Mitchell being just about to beat someone up, turns to the camera and says ' I use Fortum and Masons buckle dusters.....they're the best!'
As do a lot of other people TTG hence product placement being introduced. BTW, do you know why Rick Wakeman doesn't do his Saturday Prog on Planet Rock anymore?
