Anyone been on an overnight-er?

I'm off on one Sat and not sure what to expect. I'm open minded and would like to think I can be subjective too. Would love to find absolute proof there are spirits out there (not just the liquid ones)!

I know there will be those who don't believe at all, but I'm genuinely curious about it. I've never really experienced anything!

I think the only "ghosts" you will experience is your mates trying to scare each other.
who are you going with? is it an organised event?

go into it with an open mind but please be aware of what natural things can cause panic, "orbs" and sounds etc.

have you got a video camera with IR capability?
take a notebook, a torch (do not use unless you really need to)

Even if you find what to you is absolute proof, not all will believe it so best to look at everything with a mind that it may not be what you hope.

Oh and prepare for a lot of sitting still, in the dark, bored :)

Hi there, Yes it's an organized event and I'm quite excited. I think hysteria is probably going to kick in and cause a lot of spooky feelings. I've been on a small event but never one like this, I'm quite a calm person and not much of a screamer. I would love to experience something, but do fear a little trickery might be used to give value for money............. hope not though!
Enjoy yourself. But don't count on finding absolute proof. Were it that simple we'd all be of one mind on the existence of some form of survival after death.

If you are really curious you'd probably be more convinced spending a year or two seeing mediums and accumulating difficult to explain experiences.
just hope you dont get people who like to mess about, or those who wont be quiet or constantly scream.

if its being sold as more of an entertainment eve then perhaps you wont need the stuff i mentioned, youll just be watching.
I've been on a behind the scenes tour of somerleyton hall but that was only during the day, but it was where msot people aren't allowed to go and I saw two ghosts, I think. But i wrotr a story about them (we all had to write a story inspired by something we saw) and mine was declared the best . . .

Thanks all, Mollykins, that's great well done :0)

Thankfully I know all of those who are going as I arranged myself so they should be quite sensible (I hope) and the local Ghost Watch company has worked for 30 odd years. They take it quite seriously with a mixture of medium-ship and technology. I'm really looking forward, but I'm more worried it's going to be cold lol!

I'll let you know how I get off!

Thanks Pinky x
Where are you doing it, pinky?
where will you be. Dress up warm in layers (black preferable for night cams) and then you can take layers off if you get hot.
Is it indoors or outdoors? standing still can make you feel cold, ive sat ingraveyard in middle of winter freezing my bits off for nothing more than to hear footsteps and digging.
How did it go, pinky?

Sorry, took ages to get back on here!

Well, it was really quite good! I have to say, I wasn't frightened and it was a waiting game for most of it. I didn't feel at any time we were being made to feel something that wasn't there and the crew we went with were very good at dismissing anomalies and looking for an explanation. Very professional!

My experience we took from there was clearly hearing a voice on 3 separate occasions on tape that we recorded during a seance and listened back to immediately with no tampering from the crew at all! The fact that the voice couldn't have been planted there and how it coincided with a static feeling on my body (which others also experienced). It was amazing to be honest!

I don't know what the explanation is (if there is one) and I am still after that 'ghost in the flesh (or not in flesh as it were), but maybe next time!

Enjoyable experience and would go again for sure!!!
