Arming the opposition to make both side equal.

What a lame excuse for an invasion of Libya by the UK. Since when have any western power been concerned about fairness and really why sould they?
Throughout history nations have built up power in arms to deter other nations from taking advantage, that`s one reason we won`t let so-called dodgy countries have any nuclear weapons, so with this fairness reasoning we should let these countries have the atom bomb to equal things out.
As far a Libya is concerned Gadaffi is their leader, the head of a governing body to which there are many members and have been for 40 years, to which he/they have the right to have the upper hand over armed violent protesters.
Have the people of Britain or any other country got the right to take up arms against a government and get away with it? I think not.
I didn`t see Thatcher letting the miners have the same armoury as the riot police and I didn`t notice the authorities handing out truncheons or pepper spray to the students while they demonstrated.
Also did we make sure the Hamas were equally armed in their campaign against the Israelis while the Israeli government had an arms embargo on them.
One last thing, if the west does get their own way with an invasion or an arms export to the rebels in Libya, will they also help those in the Yemen and Bahrain who are getting massacred in their unarmed fight for change. If not why?
