Okay, I am definitely going to get a diabetes blood test this week, as it's really worrying me. The other day I had a MASSIVE bruise appear on my knee which I didn't remember doing and it took weeks to disappear. A few days ago I accidentally scratched the top of my foot in my sleep (with my other foot) and took the skin off it. This is normal for me, but it has been so so painful- red and yellow- and doesn't appear to be healing despite Sudocrem. Walking is painful. Should I keep applying Sudocrem, and should I use a plaster/wear socks or let it breathe?
I would go to the doctor if I were you, don't hang about. If you are diabetic, then wounds to the feet can be difficult to heal - don't try and treat it yourself, you may need to see the podiatrist.
You have had blood tests recently and they would have shown any abnormality to suggest that you had either diabetes or any blood disorder to account for the bruising.
Continue to use the Sudacream until you get an appointment to see your GP.
Further thoughts........patients with ulcerative colitis may develop a self limiting skin condition called Erythema Nodosum which is extremely painful and affects the skin of the legs and feet..........Google it.
Thanks Sqad and all- I went to the Docs who has given me antibiotics. I don't think the thing you mentioned is what I have; the soles of my feet are really painful and numb/tingly and the injury on my foot happened when I accidentally scratched it in my sleep, rather than a sore bit that just appears. Weird that it takes SO long to heal though. The Doc said feet are "difficult".
