I have a foreign language movie as an .avi file. I also have the English subtitles for the movie as an .srt file. Is it possible to get these subs to play with the .avi file? Thanks.

Of the files ahve the same name and are in the same folder, I'm pretty sure that VLC will play the avi and show the subtitles.

Any Direct Show Player will play subs so long as VobSub filter/codec is installed.
Sub file should be in same directory and be exactly the same name.
Timings can be modified with Subtitle Workshop.
"Sub file should be in same directory and be exactly the same name"
