Chris, I must thank you for this information and for your time in the calculations.
Now, my next problem is if I should contact my ex-employers and advise them quite what I expect to receive and ask for their confirmation? The reason being that twice (on two 4 weekly paydays) my salary was incorrect. I can forsee them "forgetting" to pay me and issuing a P45 which of course will be wrong. Then I will have to chase for the extra entitlement.
I was recently off sick for 7 days inclusive and my sick pay was 51.15 for the week - (I presume they used sick pay tables) and I know that they may well not pay me holiday pay. So is it better to clarify in writing to them before 15th when I would expect them to pay me what is owed in salary + holiday pay?
As to whether a letter to your employers is required, I can't see that you've got much to lose (and, possibly, quite a lot to gain). Obviously, you should keep a copy of your letter and make the delivery either in person or by recorded post.
Hoping this helps,
Chris
PS: 7 days off sick in 9 weeks? Tut, tut! I've only had 2 days off sick in the past 30 years :-)
Chris, this is the first time I have been signed off sick in years. I had no choice because I had shingles and working in a nursing environment..........say no more!
Again as to the sick pay I thought it was low but I can't see I can do anything about it now. I will confirm by letter an email I sent to them advising them that I expect 2 weeks salary and holiday pay, again thank you for all your help and advice.
