When you are issued with a parking ticket, does it by law have to be acttached to the vehicle or handed to the driver? Is the ticket invalid if neither of these things have been done?

It was the only place I could park that wasn't double yellows or wasn't obstructing traffic. I took her into the house (permit parking area) got her sat down and went to move my car...and I had a ticket.
I appealed and they let me off....I wasn't lying either.

To be honest we get quite a few parking tickets because all 4 vans are in London most days so it's just part of the business and some I just pay because they have us fair and square. I've appealed quite a few in the past and they have been cancelled. This one has really p1ssed me off though. I've posted about it before so won't bore with the details again but I appealed once and it got rejected so I've sent a new appeal to an adjudicator today. Will just wait and see I suppose.
DEN - No, she lives in a home so we take it in turns to take her out. Most of the time we can park near the house but I got the ticket close to Christmas...and all the spaces that weren't 'permit' were taken (they live two mins from the town centre)
She'd just had a mastectomy and I still had to park a street away. I have asked about getting a parking permit (he used to have one when they had a car) but things keeps going wrong and it gets put to the back of our minds...

milly, i had 1 years ago and i went into the loacl office and showed them a photo of a small scratch on my car, and told them their warden done it leaning over the car as i witnessed him do it walking back to the car and threatened legal action if the ticket wasn't dropped as the repair was roughly the same cost of the ticket. they did drop it, maybe worth a try!!!
