He had one. He had a big willy (allegedly) and it held it against his leg because they wore very tight cut - straight legged trousers.

nice....

He was a bit of a ladies man too wasn`t he?

this seems pretty unlikely - Wikipedia certainly isn't convinced, and suggests it was just a cute form of publicity. How would anyone have known? Did Queen Victoria give interviews on the subject? I would have thought not...

PS missmooncat I'm not aware that he was a ladies' man - he was very Victorian! His son, later Edward VII, was, and Victoria persuaded herself that Edward's womanising helped drive Albert into an early grave. But it seems from her diaries that the two of them had a very happy marital sex life; she makes unmistakable references to fun, as I recall.

A lot has been written about the history of this piercing, but very little of it is true. The most common story is that it was a "dressing ring" used to pull the penis into tight fitting fashions, and that Prince Albert himself had one. Other people have suggested that he wore it to keep his foreskin retracted and "fresh smelling" so as not to offend his Queen. Others most notably Doug Malloy have suggested that it was worn by divers to hold onto a urine trap as an alternative to a catheter. There is no conclusive evidence that any of these is particularly true.

Another amusing but also likely fictitious story is that Germanic warriors of the late medieval period wore these genital piercings in order to pull their genitals tightly between their legs in order to avoid sword injuries during combat. Whether this story is true, or simply an excuse for those with Germanic heritage to boast about their masculinity is up for debate, but the safe money is on this not being the truth either.

Er...'male' penis, as opposed to -?
He had a big d**g. It pulled it out of the way. They were human remember. Prince Albert = Big W***y.
Prince Albert was a big wally??

Wow, I've always thought the Prince Albert piercing referred to the Prince of Monaco. You learn something everyday :)
