Brenda, yes you can, but it will cost you a fortune.. Taking cash on a credit card is a very very expensive way of borrowing, the interest is usually on a daily rate for cash withdrawals and is at the highest rate charged by your card, often well over 25%.
Thank you, lost my purse today in the town centre, was found later , but cash gone . It was my fault entirely , but no have no cash.
Have a credit card , but not with my bank , would it still work ?
Drypine, that's starting to change - several of my cards have now notified me that payments start to pay off the highest interest rate first, I think it was a change in the law prompted it.
The best thing to do would be to go to a branch of your bank with some ID and ask them if they will give you cash over the counter - do you still have a cheque book?
Did you have any cards in the purse, have you stopped them if so?
Boxtops --- had just used credit card in a shop , and put it in my pocket with the receipt, fortunately had not returned it to my purse .Had no other cards with me fortunately .Banks closed now I am afraid.
Wow, you were lucky then! If you are a person who pays off their credit card in full each month, yes it's worth drawing cash on the card then, but be aware that it will cost you daily interest until it's cleared.
Give your CC provider a ring.
They should be able to advise which ATM system is best to use and what you'll be charged for. If you draw cash out for a day or two until you can get to the bank, it may not cost as much as has been mooted.....
