I think I will do a "molly" and tell everyone I got my open university results this morning and passed both subjects - Psychology and Law. The result they give you is Achieved, Just achieved and didn't achieve. I'm happy to say I 'achieved' both. I hasten to add in case you think I am brain of britain, it was only short introductory courses and although I was urged by the tutors to go on with further studies I decided not to as I would be nearing 90 before I finished and what the hell would I do with a degree at that age? If I could sustain it that long. It would cost quite a bit too.
Well done, starby, well done indeed. I've studied with the OU in the past and I found their processes really good. I know what you mean about starting another one, but perhaps think about short courses rather than a degree module...? - you're never too old to learn something new!
should have added he has another 3 years to do,he is working at a scottish uni in a science lab.has done his apprenticeship, higher english and maths at college at night.his work is paying for his course which comes to nearly £3.000 .he is going to a week long study in york in may, which the uni there will give him room and board, dont you fancy something like this.i must say i am very proud of son since i'm a right dumpling?
My head and my heart have swelled up to twice their size when I read all your posts. Thanks again everyone.
Slinky - now your son is indeed Brain of Britain, I could never aspire to anything as difficult as that.
I also did Understanding Society (I still don't) and Introducing Environment. Of the four I think I enjoyed the environment one the best, so I may do something with that. All your kind wishes are inspiring me to have another look at it.
You don't have to, molly, you are still in the education system - getting qualifications in later life is just as much an achievement, if not more, as so many other things in life take precedence - we don't have the luxury of full-time study.
