I surely hope it hasn't but with our Armed Forces stretched already the planes have to come from somewhere.

The Libyan army will have to shape better than they did against Chad if they are to cause any problems to the U.N forces.
who knows zeb..he has enough fanatical supporters to unleash outrages in the uk..he doesnt need to fight the war on his own soil..the wests firepower will wipe his army off the face of the earth and hopefully take him out as well..but at what cost???

France have been and are involed in Afghanistan. Be it only 1000 troops there still there. (however dont like defending france, surrender monkey etc)

Gadaff,i are just idle threats i think.... A madman backed into a corner. Like Hitler in the closing stages of the WW2. He got crazier, wilder decisions and crazy speeches. "If you dont learn from the past, you end up repeating it"
With all this going on i feel 'boots on the ground' will be needed but how about the Arab states provide it!!!
The Gypos are best placed with numbers and geographically, and linguistically the closest as to their Arabic
it will be interesting to see how the americans react when ground forces have to be used will they back the uk or will they back out? the falklands spring to mind here and obama has already stated that france is the united states ''closest ally''.. when the french inevitably back out where will that leave the uk?..cameron has taken this 1 on amid all his defence cuts...interesting times ahead i think...

Hate to say it !!!
Well done to the French never thought they would get so involved. Lets hope they keep it up and not fold early.

i would really hope the Arab league takes the ground role. America will not help out with the ground role. (as Obama stated) With the Cuts the UK will not be able to maintain Afghanistan and actions in Libya.
While this is going on Israeli jets have bombed Palestine will we go for a no fly zone there next or is it ok because they are supplied by America.
bastardss - let the americans sort them out.......thats just inciting the iranians into action

The latest is that RAF bombers have bombed Libya, by completing the 3,000 miles round trip.

A few weeks ago I was shouted down when I criticised the scrapping of the Ark Royal, why do we need an aircraft carrier was the general response.

If we can make the round trip from England to Libya, could not Gadaffi's jets pay London a visit?

Pity the RAF doesn't try a little bombing in Afghanistan, perhaps then, this would clear that little mess up?
"Pity the RAF doesn't try a little bombing in Afghanistan, perhaps then, this would clear that little mess up?"

Well, no, because that's not how counter-insurgency works.
AOG you will probably find that he doesn't have the air to air refueling aircraft that we have to be able to cover the miles involved. OrdsallSi whilst I don't agree with Israeli jets being sent to bomb Palestine, usually but not always you will find Israel have had some form of bomb sent to them first. Whenever they are attacked they will always respond in kind. Not saying I agree with it but that is the way it is.
So, good folk of this country, when your trains, planes and buses get blown up again or your nuclear power stations become a target, remember why.
If I were Lybyan/Arab, I would bring hell to these lands for putting your nose where it does not belong. When are we going to learn to mind our own business?
Gaddafi is a tyrant but with the european dictats being imposed on this country, do we not have a right to rise up? And, if so, how will we feel when another nation intervenes?
You reap what you sow!
