Depends where you are from, I live in a place called Churwell but the locals call it Churrell.

What do you think the locals call Belvoir castle?

Beever perhaps?
The latter.
I would say "South-well", I think the locals call Belvoir - "Belvah"

Well I work in a bookies and yesterday one commentator said "south-well" all day, the other said "suthel" all day, hence my question.  You'd think they'd correct each other!

A quote from a Southwell website:

"Southwell, pronounced Suth'll according to the crown, the church and the BBC, but not all of its inhabitants, has a population of some 6,000 and is the smallest cathedral town in England."

I stand corrected, but then I am a cockney geezah

I'm a Midlander & we've always said 'Suthell' and 'Beever'.
Robinia, we say Beever too, but not when we are looking at castles
There are Midlands alternatives.
