There are rules with DWP in claiming benefits

Or check out DWP website - every case is individual, so impossible too comment on

thank you
You are allowed a certain amount of holidays whilst claiming unemployment benefit, but I don't know the rules.
yes you are allowed to go away, and given this hol was prebooked i dont see that they would have a problem.

i would suggest she books her appointment and makes the claim before she goes though, as that will be the date they work from
I was in the same situation 18 months ago, my official redundancy date was 18th august but the department physically closed on 8th august, the job centre staff told me that if there was no job to go to, then my claim for unemployment started the day after i last attended work, then when the final salary and redundency was paid, it would be taken into account for benefit purposes. If you are only going away for 2 weeks it has no effect on a claim as long as you inform them that it was a pre-arranged holiday
and no redundancy payments are not taken into account under a certain amount, can't remember what it was though
you do have to be able to sign on though.
