Hi, I downloaded some programmes from BBC4 last night. Two of them gove me until 18th April to watch them, the other one only gives me six days for some bizarre reason. This is the first time I've done this. My question is - can I now copy this stuff to a DVD and, if so, how do I do it?
I'm using Windows XP
Thanks

It has always been a breach of copyright (and remains so) to record TV programmes onto VHS tape, other than for 'time shift' purposes. i.e. you're allowed to watch a programme at a time later than when its transmitted but not to retain a copy of that programme indefinitely. (You're meant to wipe the tape after you've watched the programme).
The same applies to recordings onto DVDs or hard drives. It's because of the 'time shift only' rule that programmes only remain available on BBC iPlayer for a limited period.
However I very much doubt that 'officialdom' will come knocking on your door, either to challenge you about copying iPlayer programmes onto DVD or to ask why you've still got an ancient edition of Noel's House Party on VHS ;-)
