It's for a middle/older aged mans funeral I have seen these?

It's called a mixed sheaf? So do these need to be put in water, if the poor lady has tons of flowers turn up would a basket be better so she doesen't have to find yet another vase? Can the flowers just sit in the basket and not need much attention?

Thanks in advance

buy the way I love your choice of extra large lilys eccles it really is between that now and say a nice white 'for funeral/death' selection of orchids in pot?
An orchid does flower again if it is looked after 'properly', neglect and the right temp as Tambo has said. It is may bloom at this time of year but by and large orchids decide when they are sufficiently regenerated to produce new flowers.
Orchids are a doddle to look after.
S'markets are cheapest...choose 3 colored different varieties, repot into larger container & place indoors facing north (not morning sun). Water like monsoon; good soak every 3months. Nowt more needed.
Not being much help are we?!
Personally I love the larger pot of orchids, yes they are easy to care for, but then I don't like lilies, the scent is too heady for me. Overpriced yes, but I think interflora are for all flowers.

would they deliver an orchid when is open?

thanks robinia for your view, nice to know what people think, thanks again x
What..the?, are you intending the flowers to be for the funeral, or for the deceased's family to keep at home? If a burial, a sheaf delivered on the day of the funeral to the funeral parlour or, if necessary, the home (is there no way you can find the date of the funeral). If a cremation, flowers are often distributed after the service to community homes or the like, so an arrangement in an oasis might solve the problem of keeping in water. Not adviseable to send flowers to the family of the deceased as they may not wish to have flowers at home at this time.
website plants are presentation prices; Tesco sell £9.99 and less as flowers lessen.
Orchids will be sold with a couple of flowers open and many more buds to open over time.
Question Author
over the top - they are for the home, we have been told by someone else to send them there, surely then a tastful orchid instead of a huge bunch of lilies is less in your face 'death' incase they are sensitive to flowers in the home?

I can't order from tesco's as surley this would be inappropriate????
Question Author
one thing I have notice is the marks and spencers orchids it sas different varieties and colours so I might have to go with interflora if I go the orchid route to guarantee I get the white/cream colour
Question Author
thanks for all the help today I went with interflora in the end becasue m&s couldnt promise white flowers which is a must. Also as I don't know the lady I don't want her getting upset by the flowers so have gone for a tasteful elegant display which doesn't overally suggest death and sympathy. Thanks again
