I( am baffled. It is the 1rst time that I can invest in a cash ISA. The interest of fixed rate is higher than the variable one. Why ? since you must choose the number of years it seems to make sense to choose the highest rate..

Its a gamble...even the fixed rate isn't great at the moment so you might think that the rate is going to go up and choose the variable rate.

thank you Woofgang. That is what I told the consultant at the bank and she told me that fixed was better at the moment and that she could not see the situation changing anytime soon......She wasn't quite pleased when I told her that I was choosing a fixed rate.....and not with her bank...
