What's the most isolated inhabited island in the world? I looked this up and found that Pitcairn Island ia just a minute speck of land thousands of miles East of Australia, and thouands of miles west of S. America, far away from anywhere. Easter Island is also miles from anywhere.

You do know that the residents of Pitcairn Island are the descendants of the H.M.S. Bounty mutineers, didn't you? Captain Bligh, Fletcher Christian and all that in 1789...

I think you will find Canvey Island is about as far as you can get from civilisation.

Tristan da Cunha is the remotest inhabited island in the world.  Basically thousands of miles of ocean in all directions; St. Helena is 2,334 km north and Cape Town 2,778 km east.
