Cable to connect laptop and TV for movie watching
3 Answers
Can anyone tell me which cable I need to use to connect my laptop (a standard 3 year old Packard Bell) to my TV (fairly new as only 2 years old) so that I can watch movies on the TV that I have stored on my laptop. I am thinking maybe the white, yellow and red pin conncetors in the TV and a USB in the PC? If I use this will the sound also transfer?
Please help me! I really don't want to go and buy the wrong one!
Many thanks

It will depend precisely what your TV supports but, chances are, it's one of these: http://www.g oogle.co.... 5&fp=51aee49 4437e607e
Highly unlikely to be via USB, though...

Good job you asked then.
Though you've not provided any relevant information there is no such thing as a standard Packard bell and fairly new TV doesn't help much either... model numbers for both would help out...
Making some assumptions that your TV is a flat screen one and has a VGA port the the correct cable would be this one
http://www.amazon.co....qid=1300463709&sr=8-2
And to get the audio you probably need this cable

Though there is a possibility you'd need this cable
http://www.amazon.co....qid=1300464143&sr=1-1
Note all the above are 5meter cables, obviously longer and shorter lengths are available.
Also if by chance your laptop has a HDMI port then you can just use a HDMI cable for both video and audio.
