My Dad is 81 has had a chest infection last week - he has just finished his Amoxcillian and seemed o.k, but it left him with a irritating cough. This morning his voice is all horse.
He managed to get an appointment at the Docs. She examined him and has prescribed Predmisolone 5mg. He has to take it for a week. She said take 6 tablets straight away and the same every day for a week.
Obviously the coughing has made his airways inflammed, as this tablet is a steriod.
Do you think it sounds right, taking six 5mg tablets all at once every day ?

The chemist was supposed to order it on Friday, but they have forgot (idiots) and said because it is a powder inhaler, they don't keep it in stock.
What is the difference between the powder version and the normal inhaler ?
