Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I thought you Quizzmaster ABers would be the ones to ask this- I am looking to buy my fiance a new encyclopaedia and wondered- which are the best? Are they all American? (I would much prefer paying more for a British publication.) He does a lot of general knowledge crosswords etc and his current one is so out of date it is laughable. Any reccomendations? Much appreciated.

There are encyclopedias covering almost any subject.
But I recommend
Whitakers Almanac
The A-Z of Everything by Trevor Montague........and the cruciverbalists Bible ...Chambers Dictionary.

Encylopaedia Britannica is the best in the world but it will cost you a bundle, it would be cheaper to buy him a second hand computer.

I know this cheeky using someone else's thread, but I have a problem with posting questions at the moment and wondered if anyone has done today's daily mail xword and what is the answer to 13a Lighter odds on, say, getting sick (5) r?i??

The Cambridge Encyclopedia is good not too costly and can get in paperback maps and references published by cambridge university press others as stated also good

out of selection i have on the shelf HUTCHINSONS can find answers in there But this book is 30yrs old may still be an edition.in print.

There is an excellent single-volume Britannica Concise Encyclopedia. Click here for the appropriate website. (Despite its name, the Britannica is, of course, now an American publication...but knowledge is knowledge, so what the hey!)

Thank you! Although impressed by your answers, I am a tad disappointed too, I was holding on to the notion that none of you needed to look anything up, you just had super-human knowledge! Oh well. Real World 1: Kilala 0.
