I called my work yesterday to say i wouldnt be in as my aunt had died and i had funeral arrangementd and rosaries to attend.....my boss said...."ok"

And that was that. Not even a sorry for your loss....ive hated the job for ages and the bosses!! Ach. Stuff em.

So mum & i went to shop to get the order of service made, really nice with her photo on, and my mum called the priest- he said we have no right and he is famous for changing hymns that the family have chosen. My aunt was very religious...and she chose her hymns....the priest told us matter of factly that it dosent matter what her wishes are!!! Mum was really upset and she went to see him.

My aunt was very bolshy just like mum hehe so he said she'll never be dead aslong as mums alive!! He backed down after telling my mum she shouldnt talk back to a priest, and he dosent know how my dads put up with her for 25yrs.....NOT what you need when you have lost a loved one eh!

Hope you are all better!? Xxx

Hi Tinkerbell
So sorry to hear about your aunt xx
Very rude priest to be honest, sorry to hear he upset your mum xx

Was looking at the videos of Pablo on your other thread, he is adorable!! Couldn't help looking at the others, hope you don't mind. He is so cute

*HUGS*
OMG! I am (unusually) lost for words.

I hope your Mum can step away and see the bigger picture and the fact that the Priest is a bit of an ar$e! Not much consolation when he is meant to be there to offer comfort and compassion though.

Yes anne i do haha my ABers looking after me :0)

Suzey, eccles...what an arse eh!! Terrible!! My mum is fit for him though hes famous for his tricks....complete ego trip!! If it had been my choice id havs told him to shove his funeral and taken it elsewhere, but my aunt worshipped there for years so its her wishes! They hymns are lovely though and the ordermof service is too!

Im doing a reading ill have to practice. So we got all the business done today, everythings in order- thanks for your sympathy unlike my f00king boss LOL

Aww suzey im glad u liked em im soo chuffed u watched them haha im just chasing him with a camera all the time hahahahah he WILL be a star (tink the pushy mum haha) xx
Aww tinkerbell, I had my mam watching them and all, the one of him chasing and biting his tail was so funny xx

The cheek of the priest for changing peoples chosen hymns and such..That's so out of order!!! I would complain about him
find another priest and find another boss?

I have 6m left of uni, so im trying to wait till after my hols in may then mabye pack the job in...my colleagues are ready to leave too!!

Well personally i would find a new more competent priest!! But the family know my aunt wants buried from there so its arranged now and he backed down....i said to my dad he would be getting sweet F A money from me after the ceremony if i had my way!!

Suezy he has been known to sing different hymns to the ones in order of service if he chooses!!! No wonder people lose faith!!! My fave is him opening his xmas prezzy haha xx
Read your last post all in one go, I thought you'd got a pic of the priest opening his prezzie!

Yeah box...got him a knuckle sandwich hahahahahahahh
I'm not surprised your boss was a bit off with you.

Not many employers would be happy for someone to take time off for an aunt dying.
My dad died . Had to work the following day. Funeral on a Saturday.
And you're both unsympathetic enough that you felt you had to post 4 days later. Shame on you!

Just seen posts- they dont pay me when im off. No skin off their nose. As parents were away i needed to help with things, plus they had notice- and anyway if i was a boss, id say at least sorry for your loss, even if i then had to say sorry no time off
