Hi, elderly
This may be too late you may have thrown the paper away by now but I felt I shouldn't publish answers in an open form until the deadline for the cluing competition had passed.
11 is HOEDMEN
12 is NONAGEONARY
19 is DSOYA
35 is NURESERYMAIDV
I hope I'm not teaching a grandparent to suck eggs but I find that in this sort of puzzle it helps to take a separate piece of paper and write out all the clue numbers in order with dashes underneath. As I get them I fill in letters. It is then easy to try out phrases that suggest themselves against the letters I have. It also makes it easier, when I have the phrases, to find the letters I have to add to the clues not yet solved.
1 7 41 2 4 6 8 10
G _ _ D L _ _ K
I hope I've given enough for you to solve it from here it really is a lovely puzzle and not that difficult once the penny drops (but a real bother until it does!)
