Hello Zinnie I am having a problem with 25a, the answer to which should be DOUBLE BEND, but because of the "S" from 10d "LOWER CLASSES" it will not fit. Are you able to tell me what your wife has for 25a (probably "Double Beds") but that does not fit with the clue . Many thanks
Question Author
Thanks 'planeman' but help from 'oldred' solved the problem earlier. She did 'fall into the
trap' of DOUBLE BENDS.
Thanks again 'oldred' for NUMERAL ,except it's created a problem for her with 1a
Top surgery? It's blooming awful without oxygen (12). she had LOBOTOMITISE.
Any thoughts ?
lobotomising - anagram of its blooming + o(oxygen)
25a I think I have solved the problem, having re-read the clue it would seem that the answer is DOUBLE BEDS and if one were to add the "N" from noon this would give DOUBLE BE(N)DS excluding the "N" from the grid.
Question Author
Thanks again 'oldred'.....all now clear....and crossword completed !
My wife usually completes the Daily Mail Crossword before breakfast
without trouble....I guess it's 'one of those days'.
Cheers.
