My company has said that we can only take 3 of the 6 bank holidays that are coming up. It doesn't state that on my contract, but I have only been at this job since December. I did voice a polite complaint but nobody else said a word! My co-workers did say that they have never been asked to work before. Can they make me do it?

As long as they comply with minimum entitlement of 5.6 weeks in the year, they can decide when you take them if they wish

I only get 4 weeks holiday (20 days), does that make a difference?
depends if it says in contract 20 days plus bank holidays or if it says 28 days.
you shoud have 28 minimum but that could include bank holidays, so if your contract says 20 but you also get al then (usual) bank holidays then that is correct. As you already will be receiving the minimum allowed, your employer does not have to let you have any additional days
