Can you give more info? Do you live in Prestwick or are you flying in to the airport?

coming up from London. arriving at Preswick Airport.

Preswick to Celtic Fc and back again later that afternoon.

Thanks Gef

Hi. Prestwick...With a budget airline? Some of them have a deal on the Prestwick to Glasgow line that lets you train it for free if you have flown in to Prestwick. This may only be one way though.

2 hours is about enough, if your plane lands on time. The train journey is about an hour I think. Glasgow Central (where you arrive) has St Enoch Underground beside it, easy access to Parkhead Underground from there.

If you can, I would leave 2.5 hours to be safe.

Taxi: I definitely wouldn't, way too expensive.

Sorry MargeB but the Glasgow underground only covers the west of the city and goes nowhere near Parkhead. I think you might be confusing it with the low level trains which run from Glasgow Central and Queen Street.

Fish, Marge is correct about the trains from Prestwick airport. My advice would be to get on the train and explain to the ticket inspector (who will sell you a ticket) that you wish to go to Parkhead (have airline ticket handy for a discount). The train from Prestwick arrives at Glasgow Central and you then go down to the low level platforms and catch a train to Dalmarnock which is about a fifteen minute walk from Parkhead.

Prestwick to Glasgow is about 45 minutes; Glasgow to Dalmarnock is another 10 minutes so not sure if you can do it all in two hours.

Thanks Gef,

I arrive at 9.40am at preswick anf the tour is at 12.00. I then leave at 2pm for my flight at 6pm home.

say I get out at the airport at 10am ( no hand luggage) take the train to Glasgow Central, then take a Taxi to Parkhead. could I do that in two hours

Hi Fish, sounds OK to me. On Mondays to Saturdays trains leave the airport at 21 and 50 minutes past the hour and Glasgow Central at 00 and 31 minutes past the hour. Journey time is about 45 minutes but can vary by up to 10 minutes. If you can't be bothered with the low level trains then a taxi from Central should be about 5 each way. When you get off the train at Central leave the platform and keep walking straight ahead until you exit onto Gordon Street where you will see lots of taxis. Hope you and your little boy have a great day.
