Just bragging really, my Granddad run the Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday and finished in 2hrs 32 mins in 5762th place out of 6315. That's over 500 people he beat... he's 88!!
The man's a legend and mine and my brother's hero! He's guaranteed a spot in the Liverpool Marathon in October because the organisers agree with us!

Fantastic Paul! Great, aren't they?
My grandad is 86 and still goes out for a jog at 5am every morning (nutter). At Christmas when we were at my parents we had to help him load up his car. The yard was just thick ice and I said "be careful grandy, take my arm and do it slowly" (not wanting him to slip on the ice). "Don't be daft he said, if you slow down, you die".

sorry, had to run off last night, I am indeed tremendously proud of him, as a man as much as as an athlete. Like Barmaid's granddad, there's no getting the man down! There's never any moaning (even though he's an Evertonian!) and he'll do anything for his 5 daughters. Humble isn't the word! He's actually been told by his doctor that on medical grounds alone, the doctor should have told him to stop running years ago, but he knows that it's what keeps my granddad going and there's many, many more miles in him yet!
