Lump in neck after glandular fever??
10 Answers
My other half had glandular fever a few years ago, since then he has had a lump in his neck. I've been on at him for ages to get it checked over and he finally went to the doctor who has referred him to an ENT specialist after asking if he had any lumps in his groin or armpits (which he doesn't).
Has anyone else had this problem after glandular fever? He seems very tired all of the time too and I'm wondering if its related and if its normal to have a lump in your neck a few years after having glandular fever?
TIA

I would have thought that a simple blood test would have been the first port of call.
An ENT surgeon will examine that region to exclude a disorder, but in my opinion there is nothing to worry about.

Thanks alba :)
You can also see it Sqad just from looking at his neck.
I think he went for a blood test about a year after and it came back normal. He just happened to mention it again while at the doctors about something else.
I don't think he's too worried about it, I was just wondering what it might be as it'll probably take ages for him to get tests done at hospital!

He got it checked over, they said it was just where his gland had swollen when he had glandular fever and instead of going back under the muscles in his neck it has sat on top which is why you can see it.
The consultant took a look at his nose while he was there too and said he'd get him booked in to fix his nose (he broke it when he was a child and left it so now he can't breathe out of one of his nostrils) so he'll be all sorted soon :)
